Witness (1985)
Won the Academy Award for editing and screenplay written directly for the screen. Nominated for art direction/set decoration, cinematography, score, director, actor, and picture. A brilliant film about a young Amish boy under witness protection. The boy witnessed a murder and a city cop must stay with the boy in Amish country until he has a chance to testify. The cop, while having a difficult time adjusting to the Amish lifestyle, finds that he begins to develop feelings for the boy's mother. And just when you think that it has turned into a love story, the killers find the boy and the hunt is on. (Directed by Peter Weir)
