Wag the Dog (1997)

Nominated for the Academy Award for screenplay based from previous material and actor. Strangely similar to actual events that followed the film's release, this story is about a president who wages war on a small country to cover up his sexual lewdness case. The film gives a real "behind the scenes" of politics feel to the viewer. It made a lot of sense, in a comical fashion, and we really liked it. (Directed by Barry Levinson)
