Time Bandits (1981)

Starring Craig Warnock, Sean Connery, Shelley Duvall, and John Cleese.  Cinematography by Peter Biziou.  Edited by Julian Doyle. Produced by Terry Gilliam.  Written by Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin.  Directed by Terry Gilliam.

Imagine Monty Python imagery minus the strong comedic effort and there you have this film.  This movie is about a little boy who goes on a fantastic voyage through time and space with a band of crazy midgets. The special effects are great, the sets are beautiful, and the characters are strange, but the story is kind of weak.

Again, Gilliam found it difficult to find funding for this movie, but after the major box office success of this film, his finance difficulty trend was over.
