The Hunt For Red October (1990)

Won the Academy Award for sound effects. Nominated for sound and editing. The first film from the first novel in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series. The Red October is a Russian nuclear submarine that is hijacked by a defecting captain. The Russians hunt for it to get the sub back and the Americans hunt for it not understanding the captain’s intentions. Very good film with beautifully played out suspense. Two noteworthy props used in the movie: one, the teddy bear at the end of the film is the same bear used in the beginning of Die Hard, and two, Sean Connery's toupee worn during the film cost $20,000.00 (roughly twice the value of my vehicle). (Directed by John McTiernan)
