Sphere (1998)

We think everyone's hopes were a little too high for this one. The previews looked great. The cast assembled was wonderful. The idea was cool. The execution was poor. Not that is was a horrible movie, but it certainly wasn't good. Anyway, the "sphere" is a huge mysterious ball from the future that holds mysteries that can change everyone's lives. The movie is plagued with factual errors about underwater related subjects; everything from submarine life to current technology. Must have had a crappy technical advisor. (Directed by Barry Levinson)
