Salvador (1986)
Nominated for the Academy Award for screenplay written directly for the screen and actor. A couple of jackasses pick up and move down to Central America; one with the intention of kicking back on vacation and the other trying to get his journalism career back in line. The end up in a violent and military ruled country on the front lines of the action. The film is co-written by Rick Boyle and is based on his real life story. Stone and he had met one day and Stone saw the manuscript in the back seat of Boyle's car. And the rest is film magic. (Written and directed by Oliver Stone)
