Originally banned in a lot of countries due to its blasphemous context, we viewers follow a man named Brian through various key points in his life. Throughout the story he is commonly mistaken as the Messiah; a result from his being born in the manger right next door. The movie is so controversial that the original producers pulled their funding out of the project in effort to save face.
Money was finally found through the former Beatle George Harrison. Harrison later said that he got himself involved because he saw it as his only chance to see another project from his beloved Monty Python group.
