Michael Mann started his career in television. After a few hits and misses, he created and produced the huge hit "Miami Vice".  He still puts some effort in the television biz, but has also taken the time to assemble some really fantastic films. Mann has an uncanny ability to command compassion for the antagonist that has produced some of film’s more memorable characters.
