Michael Collins (1996)
Nominated for theAcademy Award for cinematography and original score. Michael Collins was the leader of the IRA and founded the Free Republic of Eire. This film is a docudrama of his life. Jordan wrote the first draft of this screenplay thirteen years before he had a chance to make it. The film took a very long time to finish due to the fact that they wanted to be very sure to not make it seem anti-English and cause problems for the current IRA. The film turned out to be very well excepted and respected for its straightforward telling of the well-documented historical facts. (Written and directed by Jordan)
