Mallrats (1995)

About a couple of guys who try to create a little chaos at the mall after being dumped by their girlfriends. As mentioned earlier, actually a prequel to Clerks. Not considered to be Smith's best or funniest movie, but pretty good all the same. The Production Company had big hopes for this film dubbing it the next Animal House, but due to a series of circumstances the steam was lost and the film had only a mild box office run. Also, the character of Jay was nearly recast before filming started, but Smith insisted on keeping his friend Jason Mewes and Mewes definitely earns his keep. The film was also pretty heavily edited after principle photography, based off of audience reaction. One can view all of the edited material on the special edition DVD. (Written and directed by Kevin Smith)
