Jabberwocky (1977)
Starring Michael Palin, John Le Mesurier, Warren Mitchell, and Max Wall. Cinematography by Terry Bedford. Edited by Michael Bradsell. Produced by Sanford Lieberson. Written by Terry Gilliam and Charles Alverson. Directed by Terry Gilliam.
Gilliam’s first non-Python film turns up as a spoof on medieval mythology. The Jabberwocky is an evil beast that terrorizes a small village. A young man comes to the village to slay the beast and claim his fortune. While still carrying all of the elements that Gilliam is famous for, the effect is lost somewhere in the execution.
