Good Morning, Vietnam (1987)
Nominated for the Academy Award for actor.
The ever zany Robin Williams is a disc jockey who tries to spice up the airwaves in Vietnam. Williams’ character is based on a real life DJ whose story is similar, but reportedly, was not as funny in Vietnam as Williams is in the film as it is certainly one of his most memorable comedic roles. The story is paced with just enough weak war drama to let you catch your breath between laughs. (Directed by Barry Levinson)
