From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)
Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino met in 1992 while promoting their films (Tarantino Reservoir Dogs and Rodriguez El Mariachi) at a film festival. They immediately hit it off and when Tarantino mentioned that he had written a script for a film that took place in Mexico, Rodriguez asked to read it. He was so excited by the project that he asked to direct it; and so goes movie history. The script was actually the first screenplay that Tarantino was paid for and put him in the financial position that he could quit his job at the video store and write full time.
The film is about two brothers on the run after robbing a bank. They hijack a family on vacation and together they cross the border into Mexico. They all end up at a bar that is seething with vampires and chaos ensues. Without a doubt, one of the greatest action movies ever put together. Look for two awful sequels and a video game.
