David Fincher
Biography:
David Fincher was born on May 10th, 1962 in Denver,Colorado, but was raised in California near San Francisco. At an early age he showed an interest in film and shot home movies with his family’s camera. At the age of eighteen his skills earned himself a job at George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic, where he collected various credits on films like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Return of the Jedi, and The Never Ending Story. After four years he decided to venture out and establish a career as a director.
In 1987 Fincher co-founded Propaganda Films; a commercial and music video production company that has helped launch the careers of filmmakers like Michael Bay, Antoine Fuqua, Dominic Sena, Simon West, Spike Jonze and Mark Pellington. Propaganda has since opened up a feature film production wing as well. Fincher found a great deal of success directing commercials for Nike, Coca-Cola, AT&T, and Pepsi, and music videos for superstars like Madonna, Paula Abdul, Michael Jackson, and George Michael. In 1992 Fincher was given the opportunity to direct the third film in the Alien franchise, Alien3. The film’s production was troubled, and a failure at the box office, but he would redeem himself with the critical and financial successes of Se7en. He has since directed such visually stunning films as Fight Club, The Game, and Panic Room.
