Clerks (1994)
Smith hits hard with his debut film. Everyone sees it and everybody is talking about it. Funded by credit cards and personal loans, this day in the life of a convenience store clerk was originally rated "NC-17" based off of language alone. The interesting thing about Kevin Smith is that all of his movies have similar characters, all of his movie's plots relate to each other somehow, and all of his movies are foul as hell. This film is actually supposed to take place the day after Mallrats. The film was followed by a very short-lived animated series. Six episodes were made and only two made it to the airwaves. All six were later made available for hardcore fans to purchase on DVD. Obviously there weren’t too many such fans. (Written and directed by Kevin Smith)
