Angel (1982)

In Jordan’s directorial debut, a saxophonist witnesses the joint murder of his band manager and a deaf/mute girl. Instead of helping the police with what he has seen, he decides it to be better if he tries to solve the case himself. This film marks the first of Jordan’s and Stephen Rea’s long lineage of projects together, and also Rea’s first major motion picture role. (Written and directed by Neil Jordan)
