...And Justice for All (1979)
Nominated for the Academy Award for screenplay written directly for the screen and actor. This is a great courtroom drama. Al Pacino, as a lawyer, has the dilemma of defending a judge that he knows is guilty of rape. The limits of his moral and professional standards are tried until he eventually cracks. The film lays a heavily satirical glare at the United States judicial system and supports Pacino in one of his most memorable roles. (Written by Barry Levinson)
