A Time to Kill (1996)
Another Grisham story. A very sad and disturbing movie about racism in the Deep South and the problems that come from it. Sam Jackson plays a father who's little daughter is raped by a couple of "good 'ol boys". In a fit of rage, Jackson kills both men and wounds an escorting guard. The rest of the movie follows his trial and the commotion it stirs up. Rumor has it that during a riot scene, the mood on the set was so strong that the extras actually began fighting and the police were brought in to break it up. (Directed by Joel Schumacher)
